Born March 10, 1949 in Duplin County, NC he was the son of the late Lloyd and Eula Weston Mercer. He was also predeceased by two brothers Marshall Mercer and Randy Mercer.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 42 years, four daughters, and one son. Eleven grandchildren. One brother, and an uncle, Norris Lee.
Mr. Mercer was a Vietnom Veteran, honorably serving his country while a member of the US Marine. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation was from 7:00 til 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Pink Hill Funeral Home and Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill, NC.
