Late in the fall, perhaps December [1786-7], while Mr. Noble was here, a vessel, on its way from this river to Boston, was wrecked on House Island [Maine], near that place, in the midst of a thick and cold snowstorm. Among those lost, were young Robert Treat, Sylvia Knapp, and Seth Noble the minister's [Rev. Seth Noble] oldest son, all of Bangor.
