Francis Gordon Davis was a member of the Australian Flying Corps, with the rank of Air Mechanic Cl2, and Regimental No. 3310. He was born in Ballarat and was a student at School of Mines, Ballarat, when he enlisted on 12th April 1918. He was 18 and single. He was killed in a motor car accident on 25 of January 1919, and is buried at Leighterton Church Cemetery, UK.
Francis had two relatives serving as well. His brother, Pte Edward Henry Frederick Davis - Australian Flying Corps , and his cousin, Major Edgar Davis of Footscray, Victoria.
