MCDANIEL, Fred W. 71, of Springfield, died April 14, 2013. Born June 18, 1941 to Lorenza Gerard and Mary Catherine McDaniel in Troy, Ohio. Fred graduated from Miami East and Clark State. He served on the USS Intrepid and held various jobs throughout his life. He volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and helped several other groups. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and could be regularly found fishing. He is survived by a long-time companion, Barbara, a sister, four children and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Russ, Joe, Edna, and one granddaughter. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 20 at 11:00AM, at Fellowship Church in Springfield, 2301 Valley loop road. A private service to inter will be held at Miami Memorial Gardens in Covington, Ohio. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to National Federation of the Blind of Ohio.
