Rotary club. Aside from his church and lodge work) he was active in every worthwhile civic project for the city and assisted in the founding and promoting of many business institutions of Belton. Starting in the business world as a young man, he was first employed in a dry goods store. His venture on his own account was in 1904 when he became associated with the firm of Cook, Cochran & Co. as a partner in the business. He continued with this firm, which later became T. W. Cochran & Co., until 1917, when the name was again changed, to Cochran, Blair & Potts. In 1929 the firm was reorganized and incorporated under the name of Cochran, Blair & Potts, Incorporated, with Mr. Blair as the first vice-president, which connection he held until his death. Failing health compelled him to retire from active connection with the corporation in 1935. Mr. Blair was a good man. No higher tribute could be paid any man.
