At his mother's death, Daniel Hubbard was adopted by Thomas and Mary (Hubberd) Ponder.
He married Naomi Root on Dec 2, 1736 in Westfield, MA. They had a son named James during 1744. He removed them to Pittsfield, MA during 1759.
He was known as Captain Daniel Hubbard; served in the Revolutionary war and was a surveyor; one of the original members of the Pittsfield church, organized during 1763.
He died of camp fever on December 19, 1777, leaving behind his wife, his son and at least one granddaughter. His wife died January 29, 1800 at age 82. He is now buried in the North Border Section of the Pittsfield Cemetery with his wife in the area that holds graves that were moved there from several small, older cemeteries. A marble shaft to their memory in "Saints Rest" bears the following:
"They were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they are not divided."
