Mattie Carter, 92, of Pine Bluff died Monday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 26, 1914, a daughter of the late Albert and Juliet Whitmore.

She joined Damascus Baptist Church at Reed Lake at an early age and later joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill.

There are no immediate survivors.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Phillip Carter, whom she married December 6,1937; four brothers, Albert Whitmore, James Whitmore, Fred Whitmore and Vester Whitmore; six sisters, Alberta Turner, Bernice King, Essie Eaton, Aretha Summerville, Reola Whitmore and Mamie Rhodes; and three stepsisters, Marianna Buckhanna, Mary Lee Graham and Lutisha Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. G.L. Ford officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
