Florence E. Lindsay, 82, of Clarksville, Iowa, died Monday Morning, April 15, 2013, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Florence was born on February 13, 1931, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of Clifton E. and Louise (Burnett) Russell. She grew up in Manchester, Connecticut, and graduated from Manchester High School.

Florence was united in marriage to Alexander Lindsay, who later died in 2004. Florence worked as a nursing assistant in a nursing home. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, and her pet dog, Pumpkin and cat Bunny.

Florence is survived by two daughters, Linda (Tom) Sands of Clarksville, IA and Deborah (Roger) Smith of Brewster, MA; seven grandchildren; sister Norma Fowler; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander and son Robert Harris, both in 2004; and grandson Kyle Harris in 2002.

Florence has been cremated. A graveside service with burial of cremains will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 31, 2013, at East Cemetery, Autumn Street entrance, in Manchester, Connecticut. A luncheon will follow for family and friends, at Leslie Backbom's home in Manchester. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
