Emma Alberta "Bert" Bishop, 88, of, Litchfield, died at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. The Rev. Tim Shrader, pastor of First Baptist Church in Litchfield, will officiate with burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bishop was born on Nov. 29, 1924, in Jonesboro, AR, a daughter of the late Charles and Iva (Bingham) Booher. She married Sylvester Clyde Bishop on June 26, 1944, in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1999.
Over the years, she was employed by Brown Shoe Company, Mohr Value and Jubelt's Bakery before retiring from the Litchfield Middle/High School cafeteria.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Women of the Moose Chapter #581, both in Litchfield.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by: two daughters, Janey (husband Kenneth) Bachstein of Oldsmar, FL, and Martha (husband David) Williams of Katy, TX; two sisters, Tabitha "Toby" Fisher and Mildred "Gig" (husband Warren) Frailey, both of Litchfield; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Bud" Bishop, Jr.; and four sisters, Mary Frailey, Hazel Booher, Eunice Bishop and Alma Leitschuh.
