Mildred Jeanette “Gig” Fraley, 86, of Litchfield died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 3:20 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Apr. 8, at 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield with the Rev. Dale Jones, former associate pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fraley was born on Jan. 23, 1931, in Litchfield, the daughter of Charles and Iva (Bingham) Booher. She married Harold E. Odle in 1948, and he preceded her in death. She married Warren Curtis Fraley in 1999, and he survives.
She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1948. Over the years she worked at Brown Shoe Company and Kroger Food Store in Litchfield and later retired from Litchfield Community School District #12, where she had been a bus driver for 20 years.
Mrs. Fraley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield and enjoyed going to ballgames and soccer games. She especially enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Harold (Susan) Odle and Jim (Lois) Odle, both of Litchfield, and John (Sheila) Odle of Muncie; five stepdaughters, Janet (Gary) Boyce of Daytona Beach Shores, FL, Beverly (Robert) Wille of Troy, Barbara (Don) Burk of St. Jacob, Sue (Jeff) Hewitt of Troy and Carol Fraley of Dallas, TX; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her first husband, Mrs. Fraley was preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Bud” Bishop; and six sisters, Emma “Bert” Bishop, Tabitha “Toby” Fisher, Mary Fraley, Hazel Booher, Eunice Bishop and Alma Leitschuh.
The family suggests memorials to Litchfield Veterans’ Memorial Garden Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
