Donald Daniel "Don" Adams, 74, of Taylors, SC, and formerly of Charlotte, NC, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Union, SC, the son of the late Ernest Eugene Adams (1898–1975) and Ethel Marie Johns Adams (1899–1981); husband of Amelia "Ann" Vargas Adams (1923–2020).

Retired as a division manager with UPS after 32 years, volunteered at Allen Bennett Hospital, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Served in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy where he was a deep-sea diver, and served in the Korean War and World War II.

Other survivors include his daughters, Donna Patterson and Marguerite Quaranto (Mario); grandchildren, Eran Patterson, Natalie Quaranto, and Angela Quaranto; sisters, Athalee Adams Lomas (1917–2009) and Doris Mabel Adams Raines Mitchell (1928–2016); and brothers, Ernest Adams Jr. and William Carey Adams (1937–2022).

Also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph William Adams (1919–1994) and Roger Carroll Adams (1926–2000).

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, downtown; burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.

Visitation was held prior to the service.
