He was the son of Kenneth and Virginia Escher Schnell of the Town of Schleswig.
He was born November 19, 1961 in Chilton, and graduated from Kiel High School in 1980.
He served in the US Marine Corps, and for the past year lived in Cheyenne.
Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Rivera, Pittsburg, California; and Lisa and Bonnie, both at home; two brothers, Richard, Elkhart Lake and Rodney of Collins; and his paternal grandfather, Joseph Schnell, Town of Schleswig.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, with the Rev. Thomas Leannah, pastor, officiating.
Family rites were held at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. Burial was in the church cemetery.
