Isaac Dow "Ike" Poling age 71, of Grafton (Lucretia community) passed away Thursday, November 3rd, 1994, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg WV.

He was born October 5th, 1923, in Grafton. He was the oldest child of Hallie M. Blake Poling and the late Isaac B. Poling.
Ike was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the owner and operator of The Muffler Shop in Fetterman for over a decade until his retirement in 1987. He was a Protestant by faith, a life member of VFW Memorial City Post 3081 and The American Legion Taylor County Post 12. He was also a past member of The Taylor County Emergency Squad.

He is survived by his wife Leona Beryl Williams Poling whom he married on November 27th, 1946, three children Sharon Lee Taylor, Isaac D. "Butch" Poling Jr. and David Michael Poling, all of Grafton; two younger brothers Arthur S. Poling and John L. Poling, both of Grafton; four sisters Nancy Sapp, Martha "Mickey" Slaton and Elaine "Peppy" Mauller, all of Grafton, and Barbara "Bobbie" Alexander of Maidsville; five grandchildren Michelle Dawn Reed and Kester "Skip" Reed, both of Carrollton, Ohio and Isaac D."BJ" Poling III, David Todd Poling and Lindsay Nicole Poling, all of Grafton and great-granddaughter Cyteria Dawn Randalson of Carrollton.

Ike was proceeded in death by his father Isaac Berlin who passed away November 20th 1947. an infant daughter Athena Beryl Poling who died on November 24th, 1947. and by one sister, Callie J."Janie" Austin of Cleveland Ohio on October 3rd 1993.

Friends and family may call at The Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, Route 50 West, Grafton, From 2-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9-11 a.m. Monday, November 7th 1994. Interment will be the West Virginia National Cemetery. Full Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Memorial City Post 3081, Taylor County Post 12 American Legion, the DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries.
