Luther Woodcock, son of Charles Woodcock, while sharpening an ax, dropped it on his hand, which cut his thumb entirely off. This has caused him much suffering but he is getting along nicely now.

LUTHER WOODCOCK
Luther Woodcock, 85, 17343 Shaw Road, Gulfport, died Thursday, April 26, 1990, in Gulfport.
Mr. Woodcock, a native and lifelong Coast resident was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Gulfport. He retired from the City of Gulfport's Public Works Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Clarice Levens Woodcock.
Survivors include five sons, Luther M. Woodcock of Spartanburg, S. C., Harold Woodcock, Lewis Woodcock, Charles Woodcock and James C. Ladner of Gulfport; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Golden of Gulfport; two brothers, Wiley Woodcock and Elmer Woodcock of Gulfport; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Levens of Gulfport and Mrs. Clara Benvenutti of Pass Christian; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
