Married April 30, 1845 in St Louis, Missouri to Emily (Rawlins) Chiles / Childs. Note at this time last name listed as Chiles in records but changes in later years. Listed in Marriage record as being Colonel and a JR? In 1860 he was a tobacconist. Passed away at St Charles Flats, St Louis, Missouri.

His tobacco and merchandise business was named after him with partner Alexander Bassett. Named CHILES & Bassett.
Named in court documents as witness in daughter's divorce: F P CHILES. .
