George Junior Davis, 81, of Maiden passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton.
Born April 25, 1931 in Wilkes County, he was the son of the late George Ervin Davis and the late Alma Hayes Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Lawing Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden and was employed 40 years with Carolina Mills as a supervisor.
Survivors include:
Wife of 62 years: Betty S. Davis of the home.
1 Son: Steve Davis and Rita Mise of Claremont.
1 Daughter: Teresa and Jimmy Deaton of Maiden.
2 Brothers: Howard Davis of Lexington; Ralph and Peggy Davis of Maiden.
2 Grandsons: Chris Davis and Doug Davis.
1 Granddaughter: Jamie Smalling.
7 Great-Grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with Rev. Stephen Rector and Rev. Eddie Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends, prior to the service, at the church from 11:00-11:45 a.m.
