Charlotte was born in Elizabethton, TN, to the late Dana H. Riggs and Gertie B. Riggs.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years, Malone Young, professor at E.T.S.U. and local author; and an infant sister, Helen Riggs.
She graduated from Elizabethton High School and attended E.T.S.U. Charlotte was a member of First Christian Church of Johnson City for over fifty years, serving as President of the Women's Council and the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class.
She started her career as a legal secretary in the 1960s with Bryant, Brandt and Price Attorneys-at-Law and continued working with Walter Lee Price for over 38 years. She served as President of the Tennessee Legal Secretaries Association and was awarded Secretary of the Year of the Washington-Carter County Legal Secretaries Association; and especially enjoyed traveling throughout the State with her many friends in the group.
Charlotte was a member of the Monday Club of Johnson City, the E.T.S.U. Retirees Association, the E.T.S.U. Garden Club and served as President of the E.T.S.U. Women's Faculty Club. She volunteered many years at the Johnson City Medical Center and especially enjoyed the many friends with whom she worked.
