Mr. Tomlinson, 90, of 1611 21st AVe. died at 3:25 a.m. today, March 10, 1986, in Blair Christian Home, Duncansville, after an extended illness.
Mr. Tomlinson retired as a watchman from the John McShane Construction Co., and was formerly employed as a mechanic at Olson Buick.
He was born Jan. 22, 1896, in Bradley Junction, the son of John and Lucy (Strittmatter) Tomlinson, and May 17, 1921, in Loretto, married Mary Elizabeth Sutton, who died July 7, 1976.
Surviving are seven children: Rita Beck, Florence Hoyer, Robert, Donald, and William of Altoona, Mary Lengyel of Pennsylvania Furnace and Jean Dixon of Cumberland, Md; 41 grandcihldren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters and a brother: Ethel Hoover of Chest Springs; Mary Priore of Pittsburgh, Viola Miller or Loretto and Gerald of Patton.
Mr. Tomlinson was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Knights of St. George.
He was a charter member of the Altoona Volunteer Sportsmen's Association and Newburg Rod and Gun Club.
