Perry Guy Ross, 99, died Sunday at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was a resident of Hope and a former resident of Whiteland from 1956 to 1964.
He was born Oct. 3, 1894, in Jonesville. His parents were Samuel Ross and Augusta L. (Clark) Ross. He married Laura Ann Barringer June 20, 1916, in Columbus [Bartholomew Co., Indiana.] She preceded him in death June 4, 1964.
Survivors include seven daughters, Carol Catt of Nineveh, Betsy Harris of Indianapolis, Helen Shutters of Seymour, Alberta Terrell of North Vernon, Glenna Hill of Baton Rouge, La., Mary Randall of Arlington, Texas, and Lois Glass of Perry Park, Ky.; two sons, Donald Ross of Martinsville and Marshall T. Ross of Venice, Fla.; a sister, Elsie Trissler of Connecticut; 27 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Harold L. Ross.
He was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad as a conductor for 21 years, retiring in 1959. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus, Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and Pennsylvania Railway Roll of Honor.
The Rev. James F. Rozmus was to conduct a service today at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel in Columbus. Burial was at Daugherty Cemetery in Columbus.
