Irene Edith, was the first born child of Julius Emil and Jensine Johanna (Rasmussen)Johnson. Irene married Gilbert Gilbertson on 28 Feb 1917. They had two children, Gilbert, who died in infancy in 1918, and Kenneth. Irene contracted TB and died 3 Sep 1921. Irene and baby Gilbert are buried in the same grave in Mt. Olive near Irene's father, Julius Emil Johnson, in the Hansen plot. Their graves are to the left of the Hansen headstone.
