Julius was born on July 24, 1869 in Tonsberg, Norway, son of Johan Kittelsen and Elise Pedersdatter. He came to America in 1891 and settled in Chicago, Illinois. Julius married Jensine (Jessie) Rasmussen on Sept. 28, 1895 and they had 7 children. Julius was a painter in Chicago's Loop buildings. He died On June 11, 1916. Julius is buried in the Hansen family plot - to the left of the Hansen headstone - with no headstone of his own. Also, his daughter Irene, and grandson, Gilbert Gilbertson, are buried in the same grave to the left of Julius.
