Rieden, Leo P.

Leo P. Rieden, of Appleton, age 96, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005. He was born in Mt. Calvary, WI on April 29, 1909, the son of Hubert and Katherine (Seurer) Rieden. On October 24, 1932 he was united in marriage to Isabel Catherine Timm. She preceded him in death on November 14, 1994.

He is survived by five children: Brother James Leo Rieden, S.D.S. of Silver Spring, MD; Dolores Rieden of Milwaukee; Paul (Barbara) Rieden of Neenah; Ann Rieden Cross of Appleton; and Judy (Lawrence) Rieden Gebraski of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Paula (Mike) Hultman, Linda Rieden, Karen (Andrew) Boettcher, Michael (Kelly) Rieden, Regina (Dan Landwehr) Cross, Bridget (Aaron) Otto, Katie Maureen Cross, Kevin Gebraski, and Peter Gebraski, great-grandchildren: Vincent, Luke, and Sophia Boettcher, David and Nicholas Schulz, Alek and Lynzie Christensen, and Orion Rieden. He is further survived by a brother, Peter Rieden, brother-in-law, Gilberto Barrera, sisters-in-law: Emeline Rieden and Mary (Norris) Bird, all of Fond du Lac; numerous nieces and nephews.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel, a sister and five brothers.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2005 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Ave., with Father Bill Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, May 5 at Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

A memorial fund is being established in Leo's name for St. Therese Parish and The Society of the Divine Savior.
