J. Inghram Spragg, aged 78 years, a former well known business man of Cameron, W. Va., died at the home of his son, Edward Spragg, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Friday evening, December 23, at 5 o'clock. His death resulted from an illness of several weeks, due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Spragg was born near Oak Forest, this county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Spragg. When a young man he went to Cameron, W. Va., where he conducted a hardware store and later a general store for several years. He also engaged in the mercantile business in Ohio at different times. He was an active member of the Cameron Methodist Episcopal church and a teacher of the Men's Bible class. He served for several years as a member of the council in Cameron and was always interested in community affairs. His wife is deceased. One son and five daughters survive, Edward Spragg, St. Clairsville, Ohio; Mrs. Herman Pipes and Mrs. George R. Wells, of Cameron, W. Va.; Mrs. Thomas H. Shannon, of Waynesburg; Mrs. Herman Johnson, of Flushing, Ohio, and Mrs. Etta Huffman, of Zanesville, Ohio. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home of Dr. George R. Wells, of Cameron, conducted by Rev. W. E. Anderson. Interment in the Cameron cemetery.
