Celina Chavez, 84, passed away in her home on April 22, 2021, in Clovis, New Mexico. A visitation will be held April 25, 2021, 1:00PM-3:00PM at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico. A Rosary will be held April 26, 2021, 10:30AM followed by a service April 26, 2021, 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Clovis, New Mexico. Father Michael Niemczak will be officiating. Casey Chavez, Christopher Lopez, John Gonzales, Eric Chavez, Julian Lopez, Tiger Chavez, and Tim Garcia will serve as pallbearers. Matthew Gonzales, Dominique Chavez, Michael Lopez, Deanna Chavez, Celina Welborn, Estella Garcia, Maricia Chavez, and Monica Pryor will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Celina was born October 17, 1936, in La Loma, New Mexico to Roman Gonzales and Luganita Romero. She enjoyed crocheting doylies, painting, and watching classic movies. Celina worked for the City of Clovis and she was a beloved member of the Senior Center.
Celina is survived by; Mary Ann Gonzales (Johnny), Roman Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Angela Lopez (Randy), Vivian Bond (Robert), Edwin "Dino' Chavez, Jeffery Chavez, her sisters; Hope Rodriguez (Carlos), and Louisa Martinez, numerous nieces, and nephews, 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: Horacio Chavez her husband of 52 years, Mark Lopez, Timmy Gonzales, Amy Alexander, and Lee Bond.
