She had moved to Blackfor Co., IN in 1926 from Scottsburg. Alma was a longtime member of the Hartford City Wesleyan Church. She had retired from Cale's Poultry Store in Hartford City after 20 years of service. Alma enjoyed crocheting in her free time.
Alma will be sadly missed by her son, Mark A. (Jane) Lake; daughter, Mary D. (Daryl F.) Moran; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Laura A. Needler-Morrical; her loving husband, Glen Dale Lake whom she married on June 29, 1941 in Blackford Co., IN (he died Jan. 21, 2006); son, Joseph Glen Lake who died Feb. 21, 2004; three brothers, Henry, Ernest and Ed Needler; three sisters, Arvilla Slentz-Coons, Beatrice Runyon, Thelma Needler; and grandson, Christopher E. Lake.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hartford City Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Thomas Parsons, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Keplinger Funeral Home, Hartford City, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at the Hartford City Wesleyan Church. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Memorials may be sent to the Hartford City Wesleyan Church, 221 N. Cherry St., Hartford City, IN 47348.
