The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, 23 Feb 1894: "Bloomington-Mr. Martin Grimes, an old and respected citizen residing for many years at Everts tunnel known as "Tunnel Hill" died last Sunday aged about 88 years. The remains were taken to Piedmont, the funeral taking place at St. Peter's Catholic church."
