In the early 1820's Francis McKenney Jr. and his wife Nancy were the first family of the McKenney clan to settle in the area of Pendleton County that would later be called McKenneysburg. The McKenney Graveyard is on their original land holdings. His parents also arrived around the same time but both passed on by 1825.

Gravesite Details
There were stones located in the far back corner of the cemetery just a few feet from Cusonbury and Catherine McKenney. It appears this may be where Francis and both of his wives are buried.
