REGINA LEADER POST:

ELIASON - ANNA, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the age of 98 years. Anna was born in Sunne, Sweden on February 25, 1902. Her family came to Canada in 1915, with brothers Gust, Gunnar, Eric and sister Ellen all of whom predeceased her. She attended school in Regina and taught school in the Shaunavon area. Anna married Carl Knutson in 1924 and had a son, Gordon who lives in Toronto. She was active in the Order of the Royal Purple and became the Supreme Honoured Royal Lady for Canada from 1946-48. Anna was the permanent secretary of the Royal Purple for many years. Predeceased by her husband, Carl, in 1954 she married Allan Eliason in 1966. He died in 1987. Anna is survived by her son, Gordon; daughter-in-law, Marjorie; grandchildren: Ingrid, Andrea, Carl and Eric; and her great grandchildren: Greta, Toni, Holly, William and Gillian. She was a loving mother and grandmother who set a great example for all members of the family. We will all miss her but cherish fond memories of a very fine lady who had many friends during her active and productive life. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. in the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Ave., Regina, SK. A Reception will be held at the Wascana Family and Community Centre, 2333 Cornwall St., following the Service. Interment will take place at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, Suite 100, 2629 - 29th Ave., Regina, SK. S4S 2N9.
