Axel Rasmussen, son of Adolph
and Anna Maria Rasmussen was
born October 27, 1894 in Lisbjerg,
Denmark. He immigrated to Ringsted,
Iowa at the age of twenty. He
was united in marriage to Anna
Svendsen on October 18, 1920 at
Newell, Iowa. After their marriage
they moved to a farm near Newell.
He died Sunday March 20, 1977.
Surviving are his two sons, Harry
and Arnold, daughters-in-law, Jane
and Ellen, nine grandchildren and
three great grandchildren and a
brother Pauli of Randers, Denmark;
also many other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, an infant son, and four
brothers, Hans, Chris, Henry and
Ewalt. He was a member of Nain
Lutheran Church and the Danish
Brotherhood.
