Mrs. Mary Ann Johnson, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Emma Caughenbaugh, corner of Fifth and Commodore streets, Monday morning after an illness of two weeks. She was aged 92 years and 12 days and came to Newark in 1826 from Green county, Pa. She is survived by nine children, two having died in infancy. Those surviving are Samuel of near Johnstown, John of the home, Edward of Eddy street, William of McKean township, Mrs. Emma Caughenbaugh of the home, Mrs. Martin Garber of the Avalon, Mrs. Lucy Smith of McKean township.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been made but the burial will be made at the cemetery north of Highwater. Mrs. Johnson spent the greater part of her life at Highwater.
