He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi, the Charleroi Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), and the Arden Calvert Post 167 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Charleroi.
He was a life member of Lock 4 and held several offices; was a member of Charleroi Lions Club and served a s president in 1979-80; was a member of the State Board of Certification of sewage treatment plans and water works operation.
He was also an avid C.B. radio operator under the name of "Waterbug".
Mr. McCrory was a veteran of WWII , having served as a sergeant in England. He was a member of the 300th Club, 389th Bombardment Group, when the group completed its 300th mission against enemy targets in the European Theatre of Operations.
He was employed for 31 years with the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi as an assistant manager in the Charleroi office. He retired after two years of service in the Donora plant.
Survivors include his widow , Audrey Hall McCrory, a daughter, Karen G. Hartman, son-in-law Dennis and two grand-daughters Denise and Karie.
Burial will be in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
