Parents of Elizabeth:
George Bourne and Joanna Bletchley

More about Elizabeth Joanna Bourne's parents:
After their 1832 marriage, GEORGE BOURNE and JOANNA BLETCHLY immigrated to Lower Canada. In 1833, their first child Edmund Richard was born and died in Montreal; Elizabeth Joanna was born the following year. George Bourne was a Brewer whose business activities and residence changes can be followed in Lovell's Montreal City Directory commencing with the 1842/43 edition. His business and home addresses were all located on streets in the "old" section of Montreal—St Paul, Aqueduct, St Urbain, St Antoine. For 10 years his operations appeared to expand into additional locations, and then were reduced to one in 1853, the year after his wife's death. In 1858, his brother William Bourne, also a brewer, operated George's brewery; George lived next door. Was George in poor health? By 1860, George Bourne's brewery was no longer listed in the business directory and his residence was with his daughter Elizabeth Gault at 173 Drummond Street. In the 1871 Census, George, a widower age 70, was reported living with the Gault family at Braehead house on McTavish Street.
