Thomas Frankish was the son of William Frankish and his wife Agnes Scott of Wellesley Township, Waterloo County, Ontario.

He married Sarah Esther "Sadie" Card, daughter of Silas James "James" Card and his wife Frances Matilda "Fanny" Armstrong, on December 31, 1878 in Waterloo, Ontario.

The 1881 Census of Canada records Thomas age 26 and his wife Sadie Frankish aged 26 residing in Wellesley Township, Waterloo County, Ontario. Thomas was employed as a Tinsmith.

At the taking of the 891 Census, Thomas Frankish aged 36, employed as a Tinsmith and his wife Sadie Frankish aged 34 living in West York County, Ontario.

The 1901 Census records Thomas Frankish aged 46, employed as a Foreman and his wife Sarah Frankish aged 45 residing in Montreal, Quebec. Both Thomas and Sarah were born in Ontario. Thomas' birthdate is recorded as February 16, 1855. Sarah's birthdate is shown as November 22, 1855.
