Nicolas Engalicev born 18 February 1915 in Saint Petersburg – 1981 probably in Montreal), prince, engineer, spouse of the famous ballerina Vera Jakobi (summer 1939, photo, divorced a few years later), Latvian, Italian and Canadian chess player of Russian origin. He won the Roma championship in 1947 and the Quebec championship in 1958. He was also Latvian (1943) and Italian (1950) chess championships medalist. He lived in Montreal as a sales manager and married Louise Marie Odette Patenaude in 1963.
