Russell Stephen Klein, 69, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 11:30am Thursday, April 11, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131 with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Covenant House or a charity of one's choice.

Russell was born September 20, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Eugene L. and Doris (Saizow) Klein and was a lifelong area resident. He attended local schools, graduating from Shawnee Mission East High School. Russell then attended the University of Missouri – Columbia and received his MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. After college, he worked for 30 years in medical practice management before retiring in September, 2005.

He was a former member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

His family was very important to him. He was a hardworking, creative businessman and loved a good political debate.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; his uncles, Rabbi Minard Klein and Arthur Klein; and an aunt, Rose Schwartz. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Dena Klein; son: Daniel Klein, Dallas, TX; his twin brother: Randall Klein, Leawood, KS; and his brother and sister-in-law: Rick and Betty Klein, Overland Park, KS; nieces and nephews also survive.

Russell will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, and his love of his beloved dog, "Sprite". He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
