Donald "Slick" Branon, age 78, of Junction City, passed away Saturday, June 30th at his home. Mr. Branon was a painter and was a lifelong area resident. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6th at 6:00pm at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Lee Dixon of Centralia; sons, Darrell Branon of Junction City, Gary LeVault of Granite City; daughters, Carrie Quick and husband Perry of Wamac, Cindi Fields and husband Gene of Centralia; brothers, Jim Branon and Mike Branon both of Centralia, Clint Branon of Pinckneyville, Jack Branon of Kentucky; sisters, Kathy Grady of Centralia, Carol Rabione of Aurora; grandchildren, Sgt. Christopher Branon, Tiffany Kracht, Matt Branon and Derek Branon.
He was born on October 11th, 1933 in Centralia, the son of James and Ethel Pearl Branon. He was preceded in death by his father, a son, Donnie; brother, Dave Diehl; and sister, Norma Carter.
