MARK D. HAUPT

Mark D. Haupt, age 35, of rural Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon, June 23, 1997, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, after developing complications from his battle with Leukemia.

He was born November 21, 1961, in Manitowoc, son of Robert and Salome Evenson Haupt. He attended Valders Public Schools graduating with the class of 1980. He was employed with Verifine Dairy of Sheboygan from 1980 until 1992. He then became the owner and operator of Haupt Lakeshore Distributing, a Verifine Dairy Products distributing route. Owning his own business was only one of the many "Life's goals" he accomplished in his shortened time. Mark was a licensed Foster Parent for Manitowoc County using the opportunity to touch the lives of children other than his own. He was an avid sportsman, always sharing his enthusiasm, love and respect for nature with his family and friends. He was a member of various Sportsmen Clubs participating in archery and trap leagues when he was able. Mark was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.

He married the future Mrs. Haupt November 6, 1982, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.

Survivors include his wife and three beautiful children; his mother; two brothers and sisters-in-law; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; his father-in-law and mother-in-law and sister-in-law; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; four God-Children. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Haupt in January of 1991.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Funeral Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church. Private burial will be held on Friday with burial at Gjerpen Cemetery.

It is hard to find words that can adequately describe how Mark lived his life. He was an encouraging and supportive husband, father and friend. He was a beautiful person living each day filled with a spirit that never doubted he would reach all of his "life's goals". He continued to be thankful for all his God had given him. If love and that spirit alone could have beat Leukemia, Mark would surely have had his cure. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
