Jenny was reared at "Woodfork" plantation which lay north of Charlotte County Court House by her parents Col. Joel and Agnes Morton Watkins. She was first married to Mr. Thomas C. Poage in 1793 & later widowed. In addition to the children shown below, she had a son who died as an infant.

She lived the life and died the death of a Christian. Her children arise up and call her blessed. Her husband also and praiseth her.
