Mona K. Young 1939 - 2011 BRATTLEBORO, VT Mona K. Young, 71, of Guilford, died March 20, 2011, in Brattleboro. She was born in Poultney on Oct. 3, 1939, daughter of Clifford and Eleanor Winney. She attended Southern Vermont College in Bennington and worked at the Book Press until 1970. She went to Thompson School of Nursing, where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked at Linden Lodge until she retired in 2001. Mona enjoyed sewing, quilting, trips to the ocean in Maine and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, James Ralph Young, Sr.; children, Maryellen Young of Guilford, James Ralph Young, Jr., (Oksana) of Ware, Mass., Brenda Robinson of Guilford, Matthew Young (Kelly) of Guilford, 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Eleanor Winney; her sister, Dorothy Beese; brother, Frank Winney; and son, Kelly Young. MEMORIAL NOTICE: There will be no service held. A family gathering will be planned in the future. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Guilford Volunteer Fire Department, Guilford, VT, or Rescue Inc., Brattleboro, VT.
