GOLDEN BEACH, Fla. --- Filomena Sanchirico, a North Providence resident from 1932 to 1972, and a founder and past treasurer of the Rhode Island Council of Italian Women, died Monday at her home, 477 Ocean Blvd. She was the widow of Anthony Sanchirico.

Mrs. Sanchirico was a founder of the Our Lady of Fatima Guild, and an organizer of the gift shop at what is now St. Joseph Hospital, North Providence. She also was on the founding committee of the Bishop Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown, and a member of the Queen's Daughters.

A daughter of the late Serafino and Teresa (Bevilaqua) Simonelli, she was born in Pontecorvo, Italy, and arrived in Providence at the age of seven.

She leaves two daughters, Sylvia Paolantonio of North Miami Beach, and Marie DiCarlo of East Greenwich; a brother, Vincent Simonelli of Johnston; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from "Woodlawn," 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Augustine's Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
