PEKIN ~ Aldine Louise Salter, 79, of Pekin, passed away at 9:58 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born February 7, 1934 in Princeville to George and Emma (Wyss) Asal, she married Albert Edward Salter, Sr. on February 12, 1954 in Peoria. He died on May 1, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Albert Salter, Jr. and David Salter.
Surviving are one daughter, Christine Salter; two sisters, Eleanor Asal and Carol (Bill) Fairfield; two brothers, George (Bonnie) Asal and Jerry (Joann) Asal and many nieces and nephews.
Aldine had worked as a dietician at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in East Peoria for 5 years.
She was a former member of the Church of God. Aldine enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. The Rev. Jerry Rupp will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
