~OBITUARY OF ONNIE GRIFFIN

Onnie GRIFFIN, 88, of Booker, died September 23, 1999.

Funeral Services will be Monday, September 27, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Booker, with Rev. Carl Thorell officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.

He was born June 23, 1911 in Merit, and moved to Booker in 1930, where he worked as an auto mechanic and helped several area farmers.

He married Grace RUTLEDGE on October 22, 1932 in Beaver, Oklahoma, and they made their home in Beaver County. He worked for various farmers and also continued to work as a mechanic.

At the outbreak of World War II, they moved to Dallas, where he was employed at Lockheed Aircraft Modification Center. After the war, they moved to Perryton, where he worked for the airport until returning to Booker.

In 1952, they moved to the Rutledge farm in Beaver County, where they lived until returning to Booker in 1965. He worked for Fronk Oil Company in the summer and Russell Sell International Farm Equipment during the winter, retiring in 1983.

He was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Booker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Grace, of the home; one son, Ray GRIFFIN of Perryton, one daughter, Phyllis PITTS of El Dorado, Kansas; one brother, Mather Griffin of Hilltop Lakes; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
