The Farbstein family moved to Kansas City in about 1912, from St. Louis.
Samuel was at age 20 the manager of the Royal Theatre in St. Joseph, Mo. His brothers Lou Forbes and Leo F. Forbstein were both prominent in early Hollywood. Sam lived there too, at least from the time of the 1930 census.
Sam's wife Myrtle died in 1970, and he remarried a few years later.
Sam's middle name was Leo. His oldest brother's name was Leo (though at birth Leo was named Louis). And the third brother's name was Louis.
Louis or a name starting with "L" was an important name to the parents, indicating someone they wanted to honor. Since Tauba's father's name was supposed to be "Max" from her death cert, then it's possible that Joseph's father was named something like Leib.
