Mon., Feb. 9 (5-5): ,John J. King died at his home, 1417 North 5th, yesterday. Old English family. Grandfather was Dr. John King who came to the U.S. in 1816 from England. Father was M. B. King, rice farmer. Deceased was born in 1840 on a farm in South Carolina. Married Miss Mary Cheeves of Abbeville, S. C. She survives. Enlisted 1861. Member Presbyterian Church and an elder. Funeral from the residence today. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.
