Vance Barber 78 of Knoxville, Ia, formerly from Centerville, Ia. was the son of Henry and Mary Bernis Jordan Barber of Moulton, Iowa. He graduated from Moulton High School with the class of 1951. He married Margaret Davis at the Moulton Methodist Church on October 24, 1952.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, three sons; Richard of Ottumwa,Ia. Dennis (Doreen) of Mitchellville,Ia. and Gary (Janette) of Centerville, Ia.
Seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one brother David (Janet) Barber of Mingo,Ia.
Vance was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Ronald, Wayne, Gerald and Harry.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on March 6, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville,Ia. A Memorial was established to Parkinson's Disease Research.Vance Barber age 78 of Knoxville, formerly from Centerville, Iowa died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born September 19, 1933, in Moulton, Iowa, and was the son of Henry Barber and Mary Bernice Jordan. He graduated from Moulton High School, class of 1951, and married Margaret at the Moulton Methodist Church on October 24, 1952

He is survived by one brother, David(Janet)Barber of Mingo, Iowa; three sons, Richard Barber of Ottumwa, Iowa, Dennis(Doreen)Barber of Mitchellville, Iowa, and Gary(Janette)Barber of Centerville, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Micki & Zig Kauzlarich of Omaha, Nebraska, Tina & Scott Talbot of Indianola, Iowa, Angela & Rob Talbot of Centerville, Iowa, Michelle Alanis of Harrison, Arkansas, Christina Barber of Ottumwa, Iowa, Dawn Barber of Altoona, Iowa, and Danielle Barber of Baxter, Iowa; and ten great-grandchildren, Brogan, Bud, and Chase Kauzlarich, Kegan, Alix, Jordan, and Haven Talbot, Devin and Noe Alanis, and Dakkota Barber.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 5:30-7:30 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Parkinson's Disease Research.
