Sandra Kay Estes died peacefully on Easter Sunday March 31, 2013, at the young age of 71, surrounded by her loving family at San Angelo Community Medical Center. Sandra was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Roby, Texas, to Willie and Willa Mae Gardner.

She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Tommy Estes, on Oct. 24, 1959. They were happily married for 53 years and five months. They had two sons, Tommy Estes Jr. and W.A. Estes. Sandra was a beautiful person with a big heart that would go out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She was always available to talk and listen. She always had a smile on her face. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother and father; five sisters; and three brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Estes; sons Tommy Estes Jr. and wife Theresa and W.A. Estes and wife Beverly; three brothers; three sisters; and five grandchildren, T.J. Estes III, David Estes, Stephanie Estes, Kari Colvin and Kristy Villarreal. Sandra had 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the funeral home. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, in Mertzon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be T.J. Estes, Justin Martinez, David Estes, Chris Estes, J.R. Sparks and John Nanny. Honorary pallbearer will be Dakota Villarreal. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to West Texas Boys Ranch; West Texas Rehab Center; or your favorite charity . We will all miss this beautiful woman. She was loved so much by her family. We love you Honey, Mama, Grandma and MoMo.
