Janice Meredith Covey, 90, formerly of Radford, died peacefully at her daughter's home Saturday morning, March 23, 2013, in Avon, Conn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Covey.

Janice was the youngest of nine children born to Ernest and Grace Meredith of Snowville.

Survivors include a son, Michael Covey, of Radford, a daughter, Jan Covey Reed, and her husband, Jim (Skip), of Avon, Conn.; two grandchildren, Mark Reed and wife, Paradis, of Seattle, Wash., and Meredith Reed Holzer and her husband, Patrick, of Birmingham, Ala.; as well as five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Grove United Methodist Church in Radford with visitation for family and friends at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the service, entombment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grove United Methodist Church, 1020 Tyler Ave, Radford, VA 24141. The Covey family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory Radford.
