Her parents, Norton and Elizabeth (Dutton) Strunk, were married 29 December 1847. Elizabeth's father was David Dutton.

Lee Doshia first married George Washington Adams on February 21, 1872 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Their first child was Eli Walter Adams born in January of 1873. Their last child was Goldie Lee Adams born in October 1890. George W. Adams death certificate notes that they divorced. That divorce happened prior to 1900 when Lee Doshia Adams is listed as head of household on the census with three of her children from George Adams still in the household. In that same 1900 census Mr. Finch is listed as her boarder. She married Mr. Finch prior to the 1910 census where Mr. Finch is now listed as head with Lee Doshia his wife, now with the name Finch, along with Lee Doshia's youngest child Goldie Adams. By 1920 she was widowed and "Lee D. Finch" is listed as living with her son by George W. Adams, Harry Vernon Adams.
