BURIAL OF THIS INDIVIDUAL IN LEE FAMILY BURYING GROUND IS SPECULATIVE.

Born ca. 1834. Daughter of Benjamin & Nancy (HAYS) PATE. Married 09 AUG 1857 in Chattahoochee County, Georgia, to Henry M. NELSON, son of Jesse C. & Susan (WALL) NELSON. Mother of at least three children. Lizzie may be found with her three children in the household of her widower father, Benjamin PATE, on the 1870 census of Crenshaw County, Alabama. Lizzie appears in the household of her daughter & son-in-law, Sarah Catherine (NELSON) LEE and Thomas B. LEE, in St. Clair County, Alabama (1880).

Henry served in Company F, 39th Regiment, Alabama Infantry (Company F of this regiment was made up mostly of men from Georgia). He died 17 DEC 1862 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee, as the result of disease. On 25 MAR 1863, Elizabeth filed a claim on his service at Fort Browder in Barbour County, Alabama [perhaps to request his remains be shipped from Tennessee?].
