~Lost Baby Bryant~

I've acquired a record for Bryant Cemetery that shows an infant "Bryant" was placed here on 8 Sep 1860. This baby is not identified because the marker was destroyed like all the others in this cemetery. However, at the time this record was documented when this cemetery was read in 1980, there was a broken piece of a stone remaining. This is what that piece of stone told us:

8 mos. old.........d. 8 Sep 1860

I've calculated, an approximate birth date to place on this record. Based on other records and the small piece of headstone, it's a close estimate. I believe through years of research on my Bryant family, this baby belonged to George Washington and Mary Jane Bishop Bryant and was their 2nd child to the best of my knowledge. Both their first two babies died as infants. We do not know if they lost a son or daughter with the passing of this child. Unless I find some piece of data, that information was lost to us when the stone was destroyed. However, this little soul lived on this earth for 8 months. I feel that is reason enough to be documented to the best of my knowledge. He or she was my great grand aunt or uncle. This baby had 9 siblings connected below.
